Thanks for the link rcf. I recognize a few of the places and this is not something to take lightly. What you all in Brandon are going through is scary and unsettling.
Thoughts and prayers coming out to you, Rose and all other people in Brandon.
In a week or two, this will hit us, the Assiniboine is already higher today than it was yesterday. I sure wish mother nature would calm down and give you (us ) a break.

I have been watching the flooding cams for the past few weeks, and this is an overwhelming situation, with many people worried about losing their homes to flood waters, and farmers worried about losing their livelihood.  With all this going on, I have to wonder how in the world the wildlife in the province manages - they do not have any place to go.

Right now I'm a little bit more worried about the people. Wildlife is transitory and will move on to other locations. They have paths and traditional highways and byways. It's looking grim for the humans.

My thoughts and prayers are going out to all the residents of Brandon and surrounding areas.
This is absolutely devastating!
Please say a prayer for those in need!
Stay safe, and our thoughts are with you every day until mother nature finds calm.

Thanks for the links, rcf and TPC. Sent the links to some friends in Australia who are concerned about the flooding in Manitoba. Sure hope you and Rose are okay, rcf. :-* And our peregrine falcons too, of course. ;)

Thanks RCF. A very sobering view of the flood, not in the least bit funny.

For those who live in Brandon my thoughts are with you and all the other people affected by this thing mother nature does and the part in which the government played by breaking the dike.

Those photos are amazing.  Flooding sucks when you are involved or when you might be involved but there is no way I can't be impressed with Nature and her ability to quietly, determinedly remind us all who is really running things.

YEs, TPC, Mother Nature has a way about making us take a step back.

Flooding in Manitoba and fire in Alberta. What a twist.

Here's another one - record floods in Louisiana and right next door, record droughts in Texas
