Title: The Best Binoculars of 2013
Post by: The Peregrine Chick on December 12, 2013, 14:30
This is worth reading for anyone thinking they would like to ask for binoculars (or a contribution toward the purchase of binoculars) for Christmas or a birthday ...

This is from the folks at Cornell University's All About Birds newsletter ... 102 binoculars. 5 price categories.

Good binoculars are a great way to get more out of bird watching. There's just nothing like a bright, crisp image that's bursting with color, whether you're looking for rarities or simply enjoying the birds you see everyday. And fortunately, even some lower-priced binoculars are truly outstanding these days. In our first full review in eight years, we rounded up 102 binoculars ranging from $55 to nearly $3,000. We'll tell you which ones made our eyeballs the happiest.

Wow.  Never realized that binoculars could be so, so expensive.  They seem to be in the price ranges of some very good cameras.

Interesting reviews of good binocs, but unfortunately most are way out of my spending range.
