Cowboy ...
His flight skills - both Dennis and I were mightily impressed when he launched himself after dropping off food for Kate.  Very slick little flyer - a rider of the winds so to speak"

Wow, he must really be something - they all seem to fly so impressively.  Looking forward to seeing him. Well both of them.
Thanks for the info!

This is great news. It's amazing to know the bird's family tree. Thanks Tracy for keeping such great records so we can can know their lineage.  ;D

The site has a great food supply. There are loads of peregrine Kraft dinner just north at the rail yards. I imagine that HSC will be very happy if they keep the pigeon population down as pigeons are a constant unwelcome presence near the hospital.

How large is this triangle of three nesting pairs in Winnipeg?  I'm not sure of the geography.

Our Cowboy is definitely not a William  ;)

Cowboy gets his name from his band number, his origins and his flight skills.
His band number is C over sideways Y, so CowboY.
His origin is "out west" and Brandon does have the famous Royal Winter Fair
His flight skills - both Dennis and I were mightily impressed when he launched himself after dropping off food for Kate.  Very slick little flyer - a rider of the winds so to speak  ;D

This is exciting news, indeed.  ID bands sure let us in on a lot of history.

So are you seriously telling us there is a new courting couple involving a Kate who may possibly be breeding, just about a week before another well-publicized union involving a Kate is due to take place?  I would think William might even have been described as a bit of a cowboy at times.
So here's to our royal couple!

Interestingly - Kate and Cowboy share a common ancestor - MF-1 the famous Minneapolis resident female.  Maud our first resident female at the Radisson is one of MF-1's kids and it is through Maud's daughter Phoebe that Cowboy is related.  MF-1's son Malin is the father of Gamma is the father of Frieda who is Kate's mother.  So Cowboy is a Great Grandson of MF-1 and Kate is her 2nd Great-Granddaughter.

Didn't Birdnut often see peregrines at the HSC last year?  Possible these 2 were there last year too, and you folks just thought it was one of the other 2 pair?

Nope, those where birds migrating through.  They were bandless and didn't stay to nest.  (good memory though)
