Today was open up the trailer day in Gimli...now to get there you have 2 options # 8 or # 9 Hwy. Did I mention that # 9 runs very close to Selkirk...well that was the route I took. The sad news is that I don't really have anything exciting to report. 1 bird seen...Paris I believe was just sitting sunning herself.
Perhaps next time will be more rewarding  ???

Good spottin' Dennis!
Great news that Ty is back in his territory with his petite belle amie!
Hopefully there will be some chicks from this pair this year!

Dennis and Wowzer were able to confirm that the male in Selkirk is Ty again (yippeee) and the female is unbanded but sure looks like Paris from last year...

That is good news! :D

Dennis and Wowzer were able to confirm that the male in Selkirk is Ty again (yippeee) and the female is unbanded but sure looks like Paris from last year.  We didn't get many photos of her last year, but we have a few more this year, so we should be able to tell in the future if its her again.  They haven't decided where to nest yet so we chase them from one building to another building to another building.  They nested last year so no reason why they shouldn't try again this year, especially since they are back in good time.  Keeping our fingers crossed at least!

Nothing so far ... just a couple of merlins catching the attention of local photographers.
If we see anything or I hear anything, this will be the first place I post it  :)

Hi Tracy, a question for you!  Since I am geographically closest to the Selkirk birds I wonder if there is any update from that site?  It has been about a month since you reported a peregrine in the area and I wonder if anything developed out in our neck of the woods.  Cathy Welch in Clandeboye

We've got another local keeping an eye on the site and all he has seen is a couple of merlins setting up territories nearby in a residential neighbourhood, nothing yet of peregrines .... hopefully soon though!

And yes, we are working on getting a safe nestbox into place, weather hasn't been helping but we are waiting (hopefully) for a window ...

I have been watching for Ty and Paris to return to the tower
I saw a falcon flying past our apt building this morning, but didn't see action at the tower itself
just wondering though when they will start to repair the nest again for another summer?

in the meantime will keep my eyes open for them
