As I was returning from shopping around 9:45, I was able to catch a view of both Beatrix and Ty. One, I think Beatrix on the East side roof and Ty sitting on a letter on the South side.  ;D

...Looks like Beatrix and Ty have a lot of the best qualities of both their parents!!
That's great to hear! Then they should have a very successful nest this year! :D

Yesterday afternoon, we were out and about and spotted Beatrix at the Tower just a little before 4 pm.

Ty and Beatrix appear to be pretty evenly dividing the incubating duties right from the beginning.  This morning was particularly cute, he didn't want to leave (or get up from his comfy scrape) and he kept turning his head away and ignoring Beatrix when she came to take over.  He stayed "in bed" until 0830h then they traded spots with her have a bit of a yak at him as he leisurely left.

Why is it that all the fathers get scolded for wanting to incubate or brood?  :-\
Pour guys!  ::)

Well, I would say since the beginning of time the men hunt, work, forage for food. We, as women nest and yes, care for the kids. However, we ARE in the 21st century and the times, they are changing. He is up for change, she, not so much! ::)

Perhaps more waking him up rather than scolding him ... he seems often to be napping when he's incubating.   ;)   They really are a lovely couple to watch, very in sync with one another

Better than the Radisson birds but how much better I can't say for sure.  Their box faces north so they had rain and snow driving into their box.  They do however have much better protection from the wind so they were able to tuck down and ride it out.  Won't know until next week when their chicks are slated to being hatching though.   They have been very dedicated so I'm hoping for the best here.

Anticipation builds as we await to see how our feathered WW falcons hunkered down in the wake of yesterday's severe weather.

I watched a shift change a bit earlier and they were pretty darn quick, eggs weren't uncovered for more than 15 seconds.  Usually these two are much more leisurely about the whole process.

All the snow has gone from the nestbox and Beatrix is napping on the eggs.
And the sun just came out ....  ;D
