Oh so sorry to hear about Hart.  He had a peregrine personality that will definitely be missed.  RIP Hart :'(

Simply the saddest thing ever!  TPC, your blog told Hart's story so well.  Your love and knowledge of these incredible birds is so evident as it was when we lost Princess.   :-* :'(

Wow - what a beautiful story to honour Hart's history in Winnipeg - hope Dot and the kiddies will be ok without him.  :'(

How sad this is for the peregrine community.
As a supporter for many years in Winnipeg, I would pass by the West and report on sightings.
I unfortunately did not get the honour of witnessing Hart’s presence and perseverance of the West End territory, but was able to catch up thanks to this forum.
Another harsh lesson to us humans on how precious they are, and how lucky we are to be part of the unknown, but continue to learn from it.
Fly free Hart - you will be missed!

As an update, I can confirm that Hart did not die because of avian flu.
Likely it was just and accident, a zig rather than a zag.

Going through West Wpg Banding Day photos wasn’t the easiest task to do…but some things we have no control over and still hard to believe that Hart is no longer here.

with many tears, that was a wonderful tribute.  As I read this I think of my beautiful Radisson from Winnipeg who will migrate maybe even today. she is 16 . every year I bid her farewll and wonder what her migration will unfold. As Hart is your heart. Radisson has been th e heart of Edmonton.
she has a grandson nesting at another of our sites this  year.  Such a formidable gal, and so Princess produced strong offsrping.
my hope is that some more  of Harts offspring are found nesting.

hugs TRacy and those who followed Hart
